As the year end comes, people from my city flock to various surrounding locations looking for a slice of fun and escape from the routine. A couple of years back me and friends decided to cross the creek and head towards the Mandwa-Alibaug landscape. I arrived in Thane from Pune early morning and headed south towards Colaba with Sumo and Persi and Dinu. Several merry hours were spent at the cafe Mondiger - having nice food, beer, carefree company and the vibes of holidays. From there on to the ferry terminal near the Gateway. It was super crowded with almost no space even to stand. But we got a ferry and headed towards Mandwa. The gulls accompanied us from the gateway to quite some distance and then there is a period in between of quiet. But as we neared Mandwa, the gulls from the Mandwa side come to give us company.
